The Incidental Tarot - "A posse ad esse" From possibility to actuality

The Muse

A beautiful ethereal young woman surrounded by a climbing white rose vine gazes pensively as she holds a gossamer cloth to her breast. She is modeled after the style and subject of the Pre-Raphaelites, a group of artists and poets in the late 19th century who were inspired by the beauty and mastery of Renaissance painters. The Muse is a creature of beauty, romantic and idealistic…a constant inspiration to those around her. She attracts those of like minds and hearts through her gentle and compassionate nature, and is loved by all who know her. The role of the Muse is that of the humanizer; she loves with an open heart and inspires the pursuit of love and beauty in those around her. She is thoughtful, kind, articulate and optimistic. She reminds us of the nobler qualities of human nature, and encourages us to aspire to our highest calling. The Muse can represent a young person, male or female who is thoughtful, kind, articulate and optimistic. He or she is charming and sociable, with a flair for the arts, music and literature. Naturally talented and inspirational to others, the Muse may yet be undecided as to where to focus their inherent gifts.

Reversed: A young person whose attributes match the Muse’s, but whose influence is capricious and unrealistic. The Reversed Muse can be fickle and unfocused, sending mixed messages and leading admirers astray.
